Getting To Garmisch

Getting There

Flight & Public Transport

  1. We recommend flying into Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC).

  2. Follow signs for           S-Bahn (Subway Train), purchase a ticket, and get on the train at the "Flughafen München" (Munich Airport) stop, headed towards "Herrsching."

  3. Get off at "Hauptbahnhof "(Central Station) (14 stops) and head above ground to the train terminals. 

  4. Purchase a train ticket and get on the train headed to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

  5. When you arrive in Garmisch, taxis are waiting outside the terminal to take you to your accommodations.

Flight & Private Car

  1. We recommend flying into Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC).

  2. Follow signs for "Mietwagen" (Car Rental).

  3. Take Zentralallee to A92 in Freising. (4min/2.5km)

  4. Get on Schenkendorfstraße/B2R in Schwabing-Freimann, München from A92 and A9. (16min/25.9km)

  5. Continue on B2R to Sendling-Westpark. (14min/12km)

  6. Continue onto A95. (38min/68.5km)

  7. Follow B2 to St.-Martin-Straße in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. (15min/14.1km)

Hotel Atlas - One of the cheapest options for ensuite double rooms in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Have a car? Free parking is included. Prices start at 79/night for a double room.

Hotel Schatten - A traditional Bavarian lodge. Prices start at €99/night for a double room.

 
VALUE:

Biohotel Garmischer Hof - A hotel located in the city center. Amazing views, organic food, and a spa and wellness center. Prices start at 126/night for a double room.

LUXURY:

Das Grascek - A Hotel and Spa located about a 37-minute car ride or 52-minute bus ride from Garmisch in the Alps. Prices start at €315/night for a King room and include daily access to the spa.

BUDGET:
Gästehaus Alpenkranz - Close to the Bahnhoff (train) and right in the middle of downtown. Single rooms from 45-60/night, and double rooms from 90-100/night.

Gästehaus Angela - Just 1km from downtown and more removed from the bustling city centre. Prices start at €65/night.

Value:
Gästehaus Maria -Located just outside the city center is this quaint Bed & Breakfast. There are multiple rooms to rent and prices start at 155/night.

Gästehaus Alpvital - Just 15 minutes east of Garmisch, you can rent a private apartment with a full kitchen and free breakfast. Prices start at 120/night.


Luxury:
Gästehaus Ferienglück Grainau - Located one town over, this beautiful B&B includes breakfast and beautiful views of the mountain range. Prices start at €129/night.
